MALCOM MULENGA IS DIG IN- CHARGE OF OPERATIONS
By Timothy Malumo
PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has appointed Luapula Province Commissioner of Police, Mr. Malcom Mulenga as second Deputy Inspector General of police, barely a fortnight ago when he appointed Mr. Kakoma Kanganja as Deputy Inspector General of Police.
This is a historical appointment as it is the first time in the history of the Zambia Police to have two Deputy Inspector Generals of Police, both reporting to the Inspector General of Police.
This entails that the Zambia Police now has two Deputy Inspector Generals of Police, Mr Kanganja, in charge of Police Administration and Mr. Mulenga in- charge of Police Operations.
This is according to a statement released by State House Presidential Aid for Press and Public Relations, Amos Chanda, who further stated that President Lungu has also renewed the contract of the Inspector General of Police, Ms Stella Libongani for three years.
