2019-2021 ZAMBIA POLICE STRATEGIC PLAN LAUNCHED

Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo yesterday launched the 2019 to 2021 Zambia Police Service Strategic Work Plan.

Speaking during the launch which was held at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka,  Hon. Kampyongo said it was government's expectation that all Police Officers translated the document into specific operational work plan.

He said the document offered a clear direction with regard to repositioning the Zambia Police Service as an efficient and effective security institution.

"It is envisaged that the plan will assist the police service create a safer, secure and peaceful environment for social as well as economic development of the country," the Minister said.

And Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja reiterated the importance of the strategic plan to the police service. 

Mr. Kanganja directed all Provincial Police Commissioners to ensure that officers under their command acquainted themselves with the document so that they would be able to explain their roles to members of the public in a well informed manner.

Mr. Kanganja said this in a speech read on his behalf by the Deputy Inspector General of Police In- Charge of Operations, Bonny Kapeso.

All the Provincial Police Commissioners and other Senior officers drawn from within Lusaka were among other dignitaries present during the launch.
