• Formulation of training modules and policy related issues;

• Maintaining a data base of training programmes and trained officers

• Reviewing of the curriculum for recruits, in-service programs and the Zambia Police Service Training and Development Plan/Policy;

• Coordinating of courses programs abroad;

• Processing and facilitating of study leave for officers who intend to pursue studies both locally and abroad;

• Supervising and coordinating the training activities of the Police Training Schools/College;

• Organizing and processing funds for local and abroad training programs

1. Training and Development Objectives

The objectives of training and development in the Zambia Police are:

• To develop appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes of officers to enable them carry out functions effectively and efficiently at individual, organizational and national levels;
• To orient and re-orient officers to systems, objectives, rules and procedures, and practices of the police; and 
• To promote an environment that supports continuous learning.
