Sikanze Police Hospital
The Medical Directorate is running a fully-fledged grade A Hospital in Lusaka’ Sikanze Camp, which is equivalent to that of a district health Hospital.
The hospital is situated in the heart of Sikanze Police Camp which lies on the Northern side of Madras and Eastern side of Lusaka Civic centre. The hospital carters for the entire population of the Zambia Police Service which stands at 18,000, although this is beyond the figures since it also extends its services to the surrounding communities and other areas such as Chilanga and Chongwe.
The Hospital recently opened a maternity ward and is offering various services which are antenatal, delivery, post-natal, family planning, under five clinic and Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) services. Other services are Tuberculosis, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Scanning, Ex-ray, Laboratory tests, Nutrition, Environmental health, Social welfare and counselling.
The hospital is fully run by police officers who are qualified in different fields that include; Doctors, Clinical officers, Physiotherapists, Nurses, Radiographers, Laboratory Technicians, Pharmacists and Midwives among others.
The hospital is a referral centre for a chain of Zambia Police clinics dotted across the country which are also under this Police Medical Directorate.
