PRESIDENT LUNGU APPOINTS NORTH POLICE COMMISSIONER

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has appointed Mr Stanislous Chewe as Northern Province Police Commissioner.
Mr Chewe was Deputy Commissioner of Police by rank and second in command for Copperbelt Province.
The appointment barely comes after the President recently transferred Northern Police Commissioner, Ms Charirty Katanga to Lusaka as provincial commissioner to replace Mr Lemmy Kajoba who has since been relieved of his duty.
KANGANJA IS NEW DEPUTY INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has retired Dr. Solomon Jere as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Zambia Police and replaced him with Mr. Kakoma Kanganja.
Mr. Kanganja was until his appointment an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) by rank and was Registrar of Societies. He has since been sworn-in this morning at a swearing-in ceremony held at State House.
President Lungu who made reshuffles in the police command also appointed Mr. Auxensio Daka as Commissioner of Police for Muchinga Province, transferring Mr. Bonny Kapeso who is Deputy Commissioner of Police to Sothern Province in the same capacity.
Mr. Lungu further retired Lusaka Province Police Commissioner, Mr. Lemmy Kajoba and transferred Northern Province Commissioner, Ms Charity Katanga to Lusaka.
North-western Province Commissioner, Mr. Eugene Sibote swapped with Eastern Province Commissioner, Ms Grace Chipalila, while Western Province Commissioner, Ms Lombe Kamukoshi exchanged with Mr. Standwell Lungu of Central Province.
Meanwhile, President Lungu has sent Commissioner in-charge of operations, Mr. Fanwell Siadenge on leave pending expiry of his contract on 15th February 2015.

markaMan arrested for defiling hospitalized daughter
Police in Lusaka have arrested Rodgers Mayayu,47 of Kabwe for defiling his biological daughter aged 16 whilst nursing her in one of the wards at the University Teaching Hospital.
The suspect took advantage of his ailing daughter who had not been talking for close to two months by defiling her each time he took her to the bathroom. The victim who only started talking today revealed the ordeal to the nurses this morning stating that the latest incident happened around 02:30 hours.
He will appear in Court soon.

FORMER Defence and Justice Minister, Edgar Lungu is now Zambia’’s sixth republican president and Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces.
Mr.Lungu was sworn in as President on Sunday, 26th January 2015 by acting Chief Justice, Ms LombeChibesakunda at a colourful ceremony held at Lusaka’s Heroes Stadium.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by foreign dignitaries; among themZimbambwe’s President, Robert Mugabe and other heads of state representatives.
The officers from the defence wing who mounted a guard of honour for the President added colour to the event which was characterised by cheers from the members of the public who filled the 55,000 capacity seaterheroes stadium.
In his inaugural speech, PresidentLungu committed himself to alleviating poverty and ensure that accommodation for the defence and security wings was doubled.
