Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident that happened in Shiwangandu on 2nd January 2015 where two political parties clashed.
Investigations into the matter are underway. All those who will be found to have taken part in this fracas will be dealt with according to the provisions of the law.
We would like to urge all those with information leading to the apprehension of the perpetrators of this violence or any other form of crime to feel free to avail it to any police station.
Political parties with information bordering on any form of criminal activities should not run to the media or incite their cadres to take the law into their own hands as this is an offence. They should instead report to the police so that investigations are instituted and perpetrators arrested.

Police in Lusaka have arrested eight people for possession of offensive weapons and assault in connection with the fracas that happened at the junction of Great North and Kasangula roads near Heroes stadium.
The commotion which happened on Saturday 6th December left three people injured.
Police officers who rushed to the scene recovered 12 machetes, two axes and impounded a Silver Toyota Noah Reg. No.ALK 1607 which was used to ferry the suspects.
The suspects are currently in police custody and will appear in court tomorrow, 9th December, 2014.
The Zambia Police would like to appeal to all the citizenry to remain peaceful during this campaign period. We will not hesitate to arrest and take to court any person who will involve themselves in any form of violent behavior.
