Speaking earlier, Inspector General of Police, Ms Stella Libongani thanked members of the public for the partnership and cooperation they have rendered to the police in combating crime in the communities.
Ms Libongani who emulated the members of the public for their support, said the public should continue working hand-in-hand with the police by joining as Reserve Police Officers, Crime Prevention Units and Neighbourhood Watch as well as Whistle blowers in ensuring that communities were safe.
And Lilayi Police College Commanding Officer, Mr. Richard Mweene commended the police high command for initiating the commemoration of the Police Day, stating that it was a milestone in contemporary policing.
The celebrations were characterized by exhibitions from police sections, among others Intellectual Property Unity (IPU), Interpol, Police Farms, Firearms and Traffic.
Other exhibitors included the Dog section, Mounted section, Anti-riot squad and Crack Squad.
