MISISI AND JOHNHOWARD COMPOUNDS RESIDENTS NOW HAVE POLICE POSTS
By Joyce Nyirenda
His Excellency the Republican President of Zambia, Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu has officially opened and handed over two Police Posts in Lusaka.
These posts are Misisi and John Howard Police Posts.
Misisi Police Post which has since been upgraded to a Police Station was contracted at a total cost of K703, 000 while John Howard Police Post at a cost of K495, 000. Both buildings were built using Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
During his speech, the President urged residents from both compounds not to take to the street and demolish the Police buildings when aggrieved by Police actions but to always dialogue with authorities.
“I call upon you not to resort to demolishing the police posts whenever, you are aggrieved. This building belongs to you and these police officers here are yours because they work for you. Whenever you are aggrieved, report to us so that we address the problem,” he said.
Added Mr Lungu: ‘’Government will soon build houses for police countrywide so that the challenges faced by officers can be overcome.”
